Course Information

People credited with this unit standard are able to plan for and lift, move, and place loads using mobile plant (excavator) in an infrastructure works environment.

In this BeSafe course, learn the principles for using a mobile plant (excavator) for lifting and moving loads; hazard management associated with slinging, lifting, moving, and placing loads; types and inspection of lifting attachments on a mobile plant; lifting and slinging gear used with mobile plant; and communication for slinging, lifting, moving, and placing operations.

Upon completion, you will have gained your SLMP endorsement and be issued with a certificate of competency.

Thank you for considering booking with BeSafe Training for our upcoming SLMP courses being delivered at Hirepool Equipment Hire Rewa Road, 26 Rewa Road Raumanga on the 26th, 27th & 28th of August. As this requires a lot of preparation and to ensure its success, we would please ask whoever is booking the course to familiarise themselves with the terms and conditions set out below.

  • If you are booking more than 3 people on these courses, we are happy to work with you if you wish to pay by invoice if Credit/Debit cards are not an option. However, these MUST be paid within 48 hours of the booking to ensure others who wish to attend the course do not miss out on an opportunity.
  • We are running 3 courses. However, if the numbers do not make up the full attendance of 8 per day, we may need to consolidate the courses into 2 days instead, with the understanding that any cancellations by non-attendance are non-refundable.
  • If we cannot reach a minimum of day 2 full days of training, this course may be postponed, or cancelled, and if this does happen, all attendees will receive a full refund.
  • If a participant does not turn up on the day, there are no refunds.
  • We are happy if someone wishes to swap a person out prior to a course commencing if someone cannot make it.
  • To complete the training for unit standard 31245, each team member must be able to demonstrate their experience - Pre-requisites – Class of driver licence and endorsement required for the vehicle being driven.
  • Anyone attending must have full PPE as well as photo I.D.
  • All attendees need to be onsite by 7.30am as this course starts at 8.00am sharp.
