Course Overview:

This fully online course provides essential knowledge for those responsible for leading or supporting emergency evacuations in the workplace. Learners will gain the skills to act confidently as a Fire and Emergency Warden, understanding both their responsibilities and the legal requirements around workplace evacuations. This training is aligned with NZQA Unit Standard 18408.

Entry Requirements (Pre‑requisites):

  • No prior training required

  • Learners must have a basic level of English language and computer literacy

 

English Language Requirements:
Participants must have sufficient English to complete online learning and assessment. As a guide, this aligns with NZQA’s recommended minimum of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent English-medium education.

 

Certification:
On successful completion, learners will be awarded:

  • NZQA Unit Standard 18408 – Demonstrate knowledge of fire and emergency warden duties in the workplace (Level 3, 3 credits)
