Workplace First Aid (Albany)

COURSE OVERVIEW

Delivered in association with the Wiri Business Association, this first aid course will help you gain the confidence and practical skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations — whether at work, home, or in the community.

Our CPR mannequins are equipped with the latest technology providing real-time feedback, proven to enhance CPR skill acquisition and performance. This ensures participants not only learn the correct techniques but also develop the ability to apply them confidently in real-life scenarios.

You will learn to assess and manage a patient for:

  • Shock, bleeding, and burns

  • Fractures and soft tissue injuries

  • Poisonings and medical emergencies such as heart attack, asthma, stroke, seizure, and diabetes

The course also covers basic life support, including:

  • Effective CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

  • Management of foreign body airway obstruction (choking)

This course is recommended for everyone, regardless of workplace role or industry, and is particularly relevant for those seeking to meet workplace health and safety compliance requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

 

NZQA Unit Standards Included

Participants who successfully complete this course will gain the following New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) unit standards:

  • US 6401 – Provide first aid (1 credit)

  • US 6402 – Provide resuscitation level 2 (1 credit)
