Compressed Air Breathing Apparatus (CABA) – In‑Person Training

Course Overview:
This intensive, hands‑on training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to safely wear, operate, and maintain compressed air breathing apparatus (CABA) in workplace environments. Covering the full requirements of Unit 25044, learners will prepare, test and recommission equipment, monitor air supply, and implement emergency procedures in simulated hazardous atmospheres.

Wear, don, doff and monitor CABA equipment during work in potentially IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) environments, ensuring safe egress.

Entry Requirements:

Learners must be physically fit and capable of undertaking breathing‑apparatus work (some medical or facial hair restrictions may apply)

Basic English language, literacy and numeracy skills are required (equivalent to NCEA Level 1)

Participants must be 16 years or older and working or intending to work in a New Zealand workplace
