Unit standard 31291 reccomended to  people preparing for, and intends to apply for, Certified Handler certification under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

– Describe requirements relevant for a Certified Handler;

– Demonstrate knowledge of hazardous substances relevant to the candidate’s role; and

– Describe emergency procedures involving hazardous substances relevant to the candidate’s role.

Pre-requisite : Unit standard 31293

Unit standard 31290 recommended to  people who use hazardous substances for safe handling, storage, and disposal of a hazardous substance.
